Treva Maricle, CCR, RPR - President
Treva began reporting in 1989 after graduating from the Stenotype Institute of Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She has been an RPR since 1992 practicing as a freelance reporter in Central and Southwest Louisiana. She is now the owner and operator of Treva Maricle Court Reporting. Treva is also a member of NCRA and LCRA.

 


 

Sheri E. Young, CCR, CVR - Vice President
Sheri has been a free-lance reporter for over nine years.  As well as her CCR, Sheri also holds her CVR through the National Verbatim Reporters Association.  She is pursuing her real-time certification (RVA) through NVRA.  Sheri’s vast knowledge of the legislative process has been an enormous benefit to VRLA.  She diligently monitors all legislation affecting the court reporting profession in Louisiana.

 




 

Margie Betts, CCR, CVR - Immediate Past President
Margie has been a freelance court reporter in the Baton Rouge, Covington, New Orleans and Livingston Parish areas since certification in 2001. She is a member of NVRA.  Margie previously served as Treasurer, One-year Director, and Vice President of VRLA.  Margie also served as an officer with LVRA.

 


 

Donna Chandler, CCR, RMR - Secretary
Donna began her reporting career in Virginia in 1981.  She worked for several firms and was also a firm owner.  In 2009, she moved to Louisiana and joined Baton Rouge Court Reporters.  Donna is a member of NCRA and previously served on the Freelancers Community of Interest Committee in 2007 and 2008.

 


  Caroline Escudé, CCR - Treasurer
Caroline is a freelance reporter and has been practicing in the Baton Rouge area since 1991. She worked for several different agencies in the Baton Rouge area and is currently co-owner of Court Reporters of Louisiana, LLC, since its inception in October of 2003. She has previously served as a Three-Year Director of VRLA and currently serves as its treasurer.  
 


 

Ira Brown, CCR - One-year Director
Ira is a freelance reporter and the owner and operator of Brown Reporting Service in Monroe, Louisiana.  She has served on the board of VRLA for the past several years as a one-year and two-year director.

 

 

Debra Brooks, CCR - Two-year Director
Debra has been a CCR since 1999. She was a co-owner of Brooks Court Reporters, Inc., along with her husband, Richard.  Her firm provided freelance court reporting services in Central and Northeastern Louisiana until 2007.  She relocated to Baton Rouge in 2008 and is currently reporting for Pilant.

 

 

Annette Ross, CCR, RPR - Three-year Director
Annette passed the RPR exam in 1992 and began her freelance career in 1993.  She is a past officer in Capital Area Shorthand Reporters Association.  Annette currently works for Judy P. Foust, Inc.  She has a goal to plunge into the world of real-time reporting.
